In the year 1948, just after one year of Indian Independence, a man walked about 100kms from a village to Madurai in search of a job. His name is Mr.Kanthasamy. The heritage city offered many opportunities for him to thrive. In the year 1949, he chose construction as his career and started his mason job. Many of his cousins back in his village got to know about the opportunities available in Madurai and moved there with the help of Mr.Kanthasamy.
Within a few years, Mr.Kanthasamy made his name synonymous to construction. He constructed a lot of residential projects and commercial projects. The age old Dinathanthi building, Abirami theatre, etc.. are some of the notable constructions by Mr.Kanthasamy in Madurai. He was also keen to do something to the society which gave him everything. In the year 1960, he started a primary school named, Kanthasamy Kothanar Primary school. He was also working closely with the Ex. chief minister of Tamilnadu, Mr.Kamarajar in the congress party.
One of his son, Mr.KK Natarajan joined him with his construction business in the year 1980. He shouldered his father's responsibilities both in business and in the social activities. Mr.KK Natarajan won the Sakthi Sugars C quarters project without his father's influence and made a notable achievement in the Madurai construction sector. Mr.KK Natarajan still carries the legacy of Mr.Kanthasamay through his craftsmanship and integrity.
N.Karuppasamy, the third generation entrepreneur, stepped into the construction business five years ago. He holds a Mechanical engineering degree besides a certificate course in Architecture. The construction DNA has pulled him into the business to carry the legacy and now he is supporting his father to take the business to new heights.
